Islamic rulings on the various ways of Beautification for Women:

Beautification and embellishment of own self is a natural right of a woman. Every single female wants herself to be good looking. Islam being a humane nature religion, never opposes it. But it only declares some procedures and boundaries. Islam is the complete code of life, so it never misses a slightest point. I have tried to list the basic Islamic rulings on some procedures and new ways of beautification which are in use among women. These basic rules are to be kept in mind, and are common in every type of beautification.

EXHIBITING BEAUTY TO OTHER THAN MEHARAMS IS HARAAM:

All Women other than the western minded have the natural feeling inside to be hidden and safe.Keeping this in mind, Islam restricts the display of the beauty and body only to one man who is her loyal life partner. That is why Allah Swt declared obligation of Hijab and Pardah for every woman. This restriction also includes the use of perfumes infront non-meharams and in public places. It has been Stated in  Hadees: The woman who comes out wearing perfume and passes by the people who smell it, this sin will be regarded as the sin of adultery.(Interpreted,Musnad Ahmad) So women should refrain from these types of sins to please Allah swt.

COPYING MEN IN ANY ASPECT IS HARAAM:

Yes, it is strictly prohibited and a major sin to copy and imitate men in any form. A big warning has been stated in Ahadees regarding those women who copy men in their dressings and costumes.Which includes the different ways of designing too. So wearing men alike clothes, trimming the hair like men or any way that has a masculine feature in it, is Haraam and a sin according to the Islamic rulings.

CHANGING AND ALTERING THE NATURAL APPEARANCE OF PARTS OF BODY IS HARAAM:

Allah swt has created humans in the best form, the shape of eyes, feet, ears and hairs etc. is best formulated and designed by the creator, so making a change in them is considered haraam in Islamic Shariah. The gaping and sharpening of teeth, using of wigs and shaping and designing of eyebrows is prohibited in Islam. 90% of the muslim girls are drowned in these sins especially the third one, shaping of eyebrows. May Allah help to refrain from those sins.

USING OF HARAAM COSMETICS:

The cosmetics which contain haraam formulations such as Alcohol and pig fat are prohibited. All our prayers and salaah become void while wearing these types of make ups and cosmetics.Deodorants, perfumes, Alcoholic creams and lotions are good examples.

USING OF MAKE UPS WHICH HINDER THE REACH OF WATER TO SKIN IS NOT JAIZ.

Some cosmetics stop water to reach the skin. When water doesn't reach to the skin during Ghusul and Wadhu none of our prayers are considered to be valid, until we remove them and repeat thd wadhu or ghusul.

These are the major rulings on this topic. The use of ornaments, mehndi and henna, Islamic cosmetics, creams and lotions just to show the beauty to the meharams or husband is not only allowed but one of silently done good deeds.

(Fatwaas from the book Halal o Haram)
